Ben Affleck defends his huge back tattoo as he appears on Thursday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
The actor gives viewers a health update as he chats to the talk-show host before she asks him about his ginormous inking.
Affleck, who has been busy promoting his latest movie “Triple Frontier”, explains after DeGeneres shows a huge picture on the screen behind them, “It’s a phoenix.”
She then jokes, “Rising from your ass.”

Affleck continues: “I was about to say it represents something really important to me, but you know what, maybe we’ll skip that.
“It’s meaningful to me, I like it. It’s something that I kept private, it wasn’t like I was doing photo shoots or whatever.
“I love my tattoo I’m happy with it, luckily I’m the one who has it.”
Affleck begins the interview by telling fans after his recent rehab stint: “I feel so good now, I’m in such a great place. Whatever it took for me to get to this place, I’m grateful.”

Affleck then discusses his non-profit organization the Eastern Congo Initiative and records a personalized rap with DeGeneres’ executive producer Andy Lassner for the Cameo app raising $20,000 for the organization, thanks to Shutterfly.
