The Young Ones legend has currently began filming
Adrian Edmondson is to play charmer Daniel Cook who’s set to whisk Jean Slater off her feet in EastEnders, it is been revealed.
The 62-year-old actor, whose lengthy CV incorporates The Young Ones, Bottom and Blackadder, will come into the soap as a new like interest for Jean in the summer season.
EastEnders say Daniel possesses a “wicked sense of humour” and is “the ideal antidote for Jean as she continues her remedy for ovarian cancer”.
But it appears Jean, who lately talked her son Sean Slater out of taking his personal life, does not initially take to Daniel as she’s unsure of him. Having said that, Jean quickly warms to Daniel and the pair could be heading for love…
Speaking about playing Daniel, Adrian mentioned: “There have been only fifteen boys on my drama course at Manchester Uni, and I’ll be the third to seem in EastEnders – so I really feel it is a type of tradition! The other two getting Tom Watt (Lofty Holloway) and Paul Bradley (Nigel Bates)”.
EastEnders executive producer Jon Sen added: “Adrian’s a phenomenal talent who will bring his exceptional blend of intelligence, warmth and humour to the function of Daniel. We’re all more than the moon he’s coming to Walford and cannot wait for this like story to hit screens later this year.”
Adrian has currently began filming. The hugely well-known star, who’s married to comedian Jennifer Saunders, shot to fame in the 1980s as Vyvyan in comedy series The Young Ones. Whilst additional lately he appeared in the ITV drama Cheat alongside former Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly and the lavish BBC costume drama War and Peace.
