“Inventory” is a gripping track from Nature Television, off the band’s second EP, released now. The Brighton-primarily based quartet showcase a super-smooth soft-rock sound that reminds me fondly of early Hall & Oates, especially the sound of legendary album Abandoned Luncheonette. Element of the comparison comes through the soaring, confident vocals, which exude a blue-eyed soul top quality alongside the mellow guitars and relaxed rhythm section. The “you are right here,” vocal hook at 01:40 maintains the melody’s smooth cohesion though permitting the guitars and vocals to stretch out a bit. “Inventory” touts a timeless really feel and memorably warm melody, a surefire good results from Nature Television.
