WASHINGTON, May perhaps 30 (Reuters) – A man who set himself on fire close to the White Residence has died of his injuries, the U.S. Park Police stated on Thursday.

The man set himself on fire on the Ellipse, an region well-liked with vacationers in between the White Residence and the Washington Monument, on Wednesday, authorities stated.

The man, who was identified as Arnav Gupta, was taken to the hospital and died later that evening, the Park Police stated.
