Man dies soon after ‘fight’ outdoors bar in Cardiff city centre as police launch murder investigation

A murder probe has been launched soon after a man died in a Cardiff city centre attack in the early hours of this morning.

Officers had been referred to as to St Mary’s Street, the Welsh capital’s primary clubbing street,  at about four.50am soon after reports of an assault, South Wales Police mentioned. 

Vicky Thomas, 36, of Riverside, Cardiff, mentioned her pals spotted the victim fall to the floor.

Vicky mentioned: ‘A couple of my pals had been sleeping on the street final evening. I utilised to be homeless, but I’ve been housed.

‘They saw it. They saw the man fall to the floor. They mentioned it occurred so rapidly.

‘There was blood on the street. This morning I’ve noticed the forensics group placing factors in bags. It is finding harmful on the streets.’

Employees from a nearby shop mentioned they saw a man getting provided CPR at about 5am, prior to he was taken in an ambulance. 

South Wales Police are attractive for any witnesses to the attack.
