CBS News has promoted Samantha Graham, who joined the division in 2016 as executive director of communications, to vice president, Deadline reports.

“Graham has mostly focused on ‘CBS This Morning’ and ‘CBS This Morning: Saturday,’” Deadline reports. “CBS has sought to differentiate its morning show from ‘Today’ and ‘Good Morning America’ by emphasizing news more than life style and celebrity segments. Graham has guided publicity efforts about the show’s breaking stories, interviews and reside broadcasts from venues like the 2016 political conventions and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.”

Graham’s promotion was announced by Christa Robinson, senior VP of Communications for CBS News.

In an internal memo, Robinson stated of Graham: “Her profitable efforts to launch the new CTM anchor group and tireless efforts every day — with her colleague Tucker Hart — continue to strengthen the brand awareness and public perception of the system. Samantha has been an advocate for the applications and all of her CTM colleagues considering the fact that she joined, and we are thrilled to have her on the group going forward.”
