The man allegedly applied a mobile telephone concealed inside a backpack which he placed on the ground to take photographs up women’s skirts in Madrid without their consent, a practice identified as “upskirting”, police mentioned in a statement.

He then uploaded at least 283 of these videos to a pornographic web site where they have been viewed more than a million occasions.

Police arrested the 53-year-old Colombian national though he was in the act of recording up the dress of a lady on the Madrid metro working with a “strategically placed mobile telephone” in his backpack, the statement mentioned.

He “acted in a compulsive way, day-to-day, recording all the girls that he could,” it added.

Throughout one particular 5-day period he recorded 29 diverse girls, police mentioned.

The man operated in the metro and commuter trains and “in some cases followed some of the girls from the metro to supermarkets to continue recording them,” Rafael Fernandez of the cybercrime unit of Spain’s national

police told reporters.

Officers seized a laptop and 3 challenging drives from his residence which had videos with pictures of hundreds of girls whom he secretly recorded.

A total of 555 girls, some of them underage, seem on the 283 videos which he posted on-line, Fernandez mentioned.

Police have so far managed to determine 29 of the girls, who have filed criminal complaints against the man, he added.

The man has been charged with violating privacy, corruption as nicely as child abuse and kid prostitution given that some of his victims have been underage, Fernandez mentioned. He has been remanded in custody pending his trial.

Britain particularly outlawed “upskirting” earlier this year following an 18-month campaign by a victim who was secretly photographed at a music festival.

In South Korea girls have held normal mass protests against such secretly filmed pornography identified as “molka” as anger more than the challenge grows in the country.
