The Great Medical professional executive producer David Shore is bringing in a different cast member from his former show Residence. Television Line reports that Robert Sean Leonard, who spent eight seasons playing Medical professional Wilson on the Fox drama, will have a guest-starring part in The Great Medical professional Season three.

Leonard will play Shamus O’Malley, “an avid sports fisherman,” in Episode three, which airs on Oct. 7. Shamus will be a patient admitted to St. Bonaventure Hospital soon after a fishing accident that will have Dr. Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez) and his group questioning how to attend to Shamus’ injuries with out damaging his “prize catch.” That absolutely sounds like this man is going to be connected to or partially eaten by a fish. This show is excellently weird.

The actor is not the initial Residence alum to seem in the series. Lisa Edelstein guest-starred in Season two as Glassman’s (Richard Schiff) medical professional overseeing his cancer treatment options. According to Television Line, there is no plans for Edelstein to return in Season three, but it would be rather the reunion if she did.

Meanwhile, we are nonetheless holding out hope that Jesse Spencer will make space in his Chicago Fire schedule to come play with Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore). He told us he’d be down for it!

The Great Medical professional Season three premieres Monday, Sept. 23 at 10/9c on ABC.
