American Idol season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina is living her very best life, competing on Dancing with the Stars. She performed a FOX trot this week (Oct eight), earning 32/40 points landing in a 4 way tie for fourth spot. But as properly as she and her skilled dance companion, Gleb Savchenko did out on the dance floor, there was a ton of strain behind the scenes

“I had a crazy, crazy week…I’m going to get so emotional,” Lauren told co-host Erin Andrews when she and Gleb waited for their scores. “My cousin Holly had a brain bleed and she slipped into a coma earlier this week. I went residence and we missed a couple of days of rehearsals. And I was like genuinely stressed and my household told me to come right here and I want to dedicate the dance to you, Holly. We’re praying for you. We’re believing in a complete recover, we appreciate you!”

Prior to performing with Gleb, viewers saw a clip of the pair traveling to Nashville for inspiration. She performed at the legendary Tootsies in front of a tiny crowd of fans. “Everybody who desires to be a singer, desires to sing at Tootsies,” she mentioned, sharing that it was the very first spot that she ever performed in Nashville. The singer also had a reunion with her superior buddy, reigning DWTS champ and American Idol mentor Bobby Bones. “You’re killing it,” Bobby told her. “I get nervous for you watching it at residence!”

Lauren and Gleb danced a foxtrot to “Jolene” by Dolly Parton, which was the inspiration for Lauren to head back to Nashville this week. “Dolly influenced my profession far more than any other artist,” Lauren gushed.
