Academy Award-nominated actor Robert Forster died Friday in Los Angeles following a short battle with brain cancer, Deadline reports. He was 78.
Forster was probably ideal identified for his function as bail bondsman Max Cherry in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown, a function that was written with him in thoughts and for which he received an Oscar nomination for Greatest Supporting Actor. Forster is survived by his companion, Denise Grayson, kids Bobby, Elizabeth, Kate, and Maeghen, and grandchildren Tess, Liam, Jack, and Olivia. He has two far more projects scheduled to be released this year, Steven Spielberg’s Astounding Stories and Werewolf.

On Saturday, El Camino star Aaron Paul took to Instagram to try to remember the actor. “I am heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of my dear buddy Robert Forster,” he wrote. “My god. I had the privilege of recognizing this wonderful man and operating along side of him. A accurate gentleman that loved to act. I like you my buddy. Thank you for loving me back. You are and generally will be a legend.”
It wasn’t just Cranston and Paul although. Actors, directors, and producers across Hollywood had been saddened by the news of Forster’s passing and shared their condolences on social media.
