Steve Bruce is seeking forward to some less difficult games.

The Newcastle United head coach saying ‘We knew it was going to be a challenging start…we knew we had Arsenal, Man Utd, Tottenham, Liverpool and Leicester.’

Bruce now seeking ahead…’no disrespect to the teams we play subsequent but we have got teams who we assume are going to be in and about us.’

Searching at the Premier League table as it now stands immediately after Sheffield United beat Arsenal on Monday evening, it throws up an exciting divide in the games played so far:

So far, Newcastle have played 5 of the top rated seven and 4 of the bottom seven.

Now it is time for the bit in the middle.

The subsequent 4 NUFC games are Wolves (H), West Ham (A), Bournemouth (H) and Villa (A).

These are the 4 teams presently occupying 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th.

So Steve Bruce faces an upcoming 4 game mini-league against teams he thinks are ‘going to be in and about us’, the head coach clearly aspiring to mid-table.

This could make or break Steve Bruce and this Newcastle United season.

If Newcastle get a couple of wins in these 4 games and are on 14 points or improved immediately after 13 matches, then NUFC would be in a decent position to be going on and hopefully at least avoiding relegation.

Having said that, if items go badly then Newcastle could come across themselves finding left behind in the bottom 3.

With now quite significantly a complete squad to opt for from and obtaining played 13 of the 19 clubs after this 4 game run more than, there cannot be any excuses any longer about hard begins, or journalists saying appear at how badly Rafa Benitez did final season early on.

By the 13 game mark final season, Rafa had recovered to 12 points with Salomon Rondon at final completely match, while the season just before Newcastle had 14 points immediately after 13 matches, just more than a third of the season gone.

Steve Bruce immediately after Newcastle’s defeat at Chelsea:

“We knew it was going to be a challenging begin and Leicester’s usually going to be rammed down our throats but we knew we had Arsenal, Man Utd, Tottenham, Liverpool and Leicester.

“We have had an unbelievably challenging begin and no disrespect to the teams we play subsequent but we have got teams who we assume are going to be in and about us.”
