Coronation Street actress Katie McGlynn has revealed that she necessary counselling to cope with her character Sinead Tinker’s harrowing death storyline.
The actress confessed that she couldn’t quit crying following she filmed the scene in which Sinead was told she only had weeks left to reside.
“It was like the storyline got embedded in my head – I couldn’t quit considering about it and crying,” she told the Sunday Mirror.
“I was sitting on my sofa watching the programme in which Sinead is told she has weeks to reside, and I began to cry.
“The subsequent day I just kept crying. I couldn’t quit. I ended up going to see a counsellor who told me that I was mourning Sinead.”
She continued: “A month later I nonetheless really feel like I’m genuinely mourning her. It feels like waves of sadness coming more than me.
“One minute I’ll be all suitable, then the subsequent I’m in tears. It could sound weird, but to me Sinead has often been true.”
She added: “The counsellor told me, ‘Katie, you are grieving for Sinead’.
“I hadn’t realised what was taking place at the time but it created sense when she stated it.
“She stated I’d got so fantastic at differentiating myself from Sinead that she had develop into like a buddy to me.”
Corrie fans had been left sobbing on Friday evening as Sinead sadly lost her battle to cancer and bowed out of the soap following seven years.
Katie took to Twitter moments following the emotionally charged scenes had been aired to thank absolutely everyone for their continued assistance. Such as co-star Rob Mallard who played her on-screen husband Daniel Osbourne.
She tweeted: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your awesome assistance and love… thank you to every single single particular person who tends to make Coronation Street the brilliant show that it is and most importantly, THANK YOU to every single single viewer for following Sinead’s journey.”
On functioning alongside Rob, Katie added: “My onscreen hubby and companion in crime @Rob_Mallard , you my darling have been certainly extraordinary.
“I couldn’t have asked for a greater actor to operate alongside on this story and I can not wait to carry on watching how it all unfolds for Daniel.”
